Memories abound
In every crevice and under every rock
In the trickle of the water and the setting of the sun,
This October twilight
The most nostalgic time of day, of year
Seeps through me with its beautiful cool breeze
Fills me with memories till I am whole
And I am purified by every sight and scent, sensation and sound,
Memories abound.
The people we were have never left us
Nor have they left this place,
They are here, in the changing colors of the leaves
And the pink tint of the sky,
I am never alone, so long as I can remember
And I do.
The return of a feeling long since missed
A yearning for a once found perfection,
It’s here, in the dusk
And may you never need to look further.

Memories abound

In every crevice and under every rock
In the trickle of the water and the setting of the sun, Very nice!
This October twilight I think I would say'In this October twilight'
The most nostalgic time of day, of year
Seeps through me with its beautiful cool breeze
Fills me with memories till I am whole
And I am purified by every sight and scent, sensation and sound,
Memories abound. I love this verse!!! Very good imagery, and it brings a very nice picture to mind
The people we were have never left us 'The people we were'??? I don't know if that really goes...it doesn't make sense to me
Nor have they left this place,
They are here, in the changing colors of the leaves
And the pink tint of the sky,
I am never alone, so long as I can remember
And I do. I don't really like the abrupt ending to this stanza, but it was a nice verse
The return of a feeling long since missed
A yearning for a once found perfection,
It’s here, in the dusk
And may you never need to look further.
Very nice!!! I didn't like how the stanzas got shorter and shorter...because I didn't want this poem to finish!!! I think you did a very good job. Its whimsical, sweet, and gentle...
Well done
